Favorite places to eat in Dallas with kids

I love going out to eat and trying new restaurants! Going out to eat with kids can sometimes be stressful or difficult, though. There are a few things that I look for in a restaurant that seem to make our family’s experience more enjoyable: 1) casual atmosphere, 2) music being played or enough noise in the restaurant so that everyone can’t hear each noise our kids make and 3) unique menu items for my husband and me to try but something simple we can order for our picky eaters. These are our favorite places in Dallas so far that have checked all of the boxes for a delicious  meal out!

Cane Rosso

Neapolitan pizza and Italian donuts in a trendy downtown area? Yes, please! My husband and I shared the Proscuitto E Rucola pizza which was so filling and had tons of flavor. The kids mostly ate the Focaccia starter and, we all fell in love with the Zeppole dessert. After we ate, we walked around Deep Elum and had to take a picture by this huge mural. http://www.canerosso.com/deep-ellum

Picole Pops

If you want a sweet treat while you’re in Bishop Arts District, this is a great spot to pick! There are so many flavors and toppings to choose from and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. They even have games like Jenga that you can play at your table while you eat. And while you’re in the area, you have to at least do some window shopping because there are so many adorable stores. @picolepopsdallas

Off Site Kitchen

Trinity Groves has lots of options and great variety when it comes to restaurants, but if you like delicious burgers and fries then Off Site Kitchen is where you should eat! Our kids ate grilled cheese (I didn’t notice it on the menu but I just asked) and they devoured the French fries. We took a walk and admired the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge after to take in the views and take some pictures, of course. http://www.oskdallas.com

Velvet Taco

Chips and queso is definitely a guilty pleasure of mine and the queso at Velvet Taco is the best I’ve ever had (the kids approved too)! I ordered 3 different tacos but couldn’t finish because they were such big portions. Everything was ready fast and was so delicious. Also, if you feel like doing a little shopping after, you can walk to Favor the Kind. It’s a super cute store with clothes and things for your home. (We went to the Velvet Taco on North Henderson avenue.) https://velvettaco.com

Hypnotic Donuts and Biscuits

We stopped here to pick up donuts on the way to The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens and I had the tastiest donut called Canadian Healthcare. Their donuts tasted so fresh and their dining area would definitely be a nice spot for a coffee date! http://www.hypnoticdonuts.com
